On Saturday, May 28th the ELCAA and Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) hosted the 19th Bilingual monthly Amharic Story Time at Silver Spring Library. We had a fantastic time with everyone. For the younger kids (ages 3-9) this month’s readings consisted of ““Maraki Teretoch Part 1 and 2 ”by Gail by Gail Ascari, read by Mama Kebebush Tesfaye &  Eileen Fishervalentine, the Silver Spring children librarian. Between the book reading, the kids watched a short YouTube videos of popular Ethiopian nursery rhymes. The kids caught on quickly and then began to sing and dance along with it. Finally, the kids had a fun coloring activities.

We thank all the parents and children who came to join us and hope that you, and even some newcomers, can all join us again at our next event and activity.  We have posted the pictures and video of  the event activities on  Facebook and Picasa web album.
